GENKA SHIPPING
In 1972, the two brothers, Emin and Metin, started their own shipping company with a very small tanker. Over the years, they became one of the leading tanker owner and operator in the region. As the business start growing, necessity of more vessels arisen. Due to fact that Turkish ship building industry not being familiar with tankers at those years, they have started building ships for their own fleet in late 1900’s.
In early 2000’s, Emin Akbasoglu has decided to convert his know-how to a business and established GENKA.
Today, two sons of Emin; Kemal and Kerem took over their family heritage and widen the scope of works carried out to a larger scale, providing new-building services worldwide, specializing in tankers as well as other services.
Ship Design
A small, hard-working shipping firm based in Istanbul. Established in 2004, we hit the ground running with our direct approach to finding success. New designs, 40 year experience in the industry and project managing, we offer our clients the full package.
Ship Building
Although GENKA specializes in small sized tankers, also offers a wide range of vessels, including but not limited to general cargo vessels, fishing boats, and tugs.
